Rita Marie Duncan, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She was born Dec. 12, 1933, in Alexander County, Ill., daughter of Curtis and Ruth Winchester. Rita worked 10 years for the Civil Service in St. Louis. She lived most of her life in Southern Illinois. Rita Marie Duncan, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Dec. 12, 1933, in Alexander County, Ill., daughter of Curtis and Ruth Winchester.

Rita worked 10 years for the Civil Service in St. Louis. She lived most of her life in Southern Illinois. For the last 10 years she has been in Cape Girardeau and was formerly a resident at Capetown Assisted Living.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Melissa Duncan of Cape Girardeau, Shawn Duncan; a daughter, Carol Gibbs; and a grandson, Michael Lucas Duncan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Naomi Farris of Olive Branch, Ill.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lindsey Cemetery in McClure, Ill., with Joe Hill officiating.
