McCLURE, Ill. -- Rita Boettcher, 78, of McClure died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 27, 1934, in Germany to Konrad and Barbara Schmitt Brunner. She and Fred Boettcher Sr. were married in Germany.

Rita was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. She had been a waitress at the Purple Crackle and Witz Restaurant in East Cape Girardeau, Ill., for several years.

Survivors include four sons, Fred (Kathy) Boettcher Jr. of St. Louis, Thomas Boettcher of East Cape Girardeau, Robert Boettcher of St. Louis and George Boettcher of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Gabbie (Joe) Mason of Thebes, Ill., and Theresa (Mike) Fox of Middletown, Del.; two brothers, Alois (Maria) Brunner and Konrad (Dorthea) Brunner Jr. of Germany; a sister, Edeltraud (Herbert) Danies of Germany; a grandson, Joseph Kyle Mason; three step-grandchildren, Christie (Mike) Seyer, Leslie Matlock and James Mason; and numerous step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Rosina.

A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Lindsey Cemetery in McClure.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
