MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Ricky Hendershott, 62, of Marble Hill passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at his home.

He was born July 25, 1948, in St. Louis, son of George Donald and Elsie Emma "June" Rhodes Hendershott. He and wife Ann were married Nov. 14, 1969.

Hendershott was a boat captain for Cape Fleeting and was of the Jehovah's Witness belief.

He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969.

Survivors include his wife, Ann of Marble Hill; mother, Emma June Hendershott of Marble Hill; two sons, Kevin Hendershott of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., Marty Hendershott of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Sondra Rhodes of Crump; five brothers, Kelly, Keith and Roger Hendershott, all of Advance, Mo., Randy and Leslie Hendershott of Arab, Mo.; a sister, Evelyn Birkman of Cape Girardeau; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; a son, Ricky Shawn; a grandson, Nathan Joe Hendershott; and a great-granddaughter, Hailey Dawn.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Dan Eaker Cemetery near Marble Hill, with Eddie Wallace officiating.
