SIKESTON, Mo. -- Rickey Lee Ivie, 48, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. He was born Dec. 5, 1956, at Wyatt, Mo., son of Walter and Shirley Shankle Ivie. He and Janet Crawford were married in 1991. Ivie moved to Sikeston a year ago, where he had worked at Wal-Mart until retiring in May 2004 due to ill health. ...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Rickey Lee Ivie, 48, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 5, 1956, at Wyatt, Mo., son of Walter and Shirley Shankle Ivie. He and Janet Crawford were married in 1991.

Ivie moved to Sikeston a year ago, where he had worked at Wal-Mart until retiring in May 2004 due to ill health. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Charleston, Mo., and Eagles Aerie in Sikeston. He was named the Top Ranked Amateur Pool Player in the nation in 2004.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Tommy Henson III of Sikeston; two daughters, Alisha Ivie of San Antonio, Texas, Amanda Kitchen of Sikeston; his parents of Charleston; a brother, Larry Ivie of Diehlstadt, Mo.; a sister, Debbie Ivie of Charleston; maternal grandmother, Ruby Shankle of East Prairie, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Bill Bradley and Winston Williford officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
