FESTUS, Mo. -- Richard Wayne Sides, 57, of Festus died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at his home. He was born Sept. 27, 1947, at Cape Girardeau, son of Lloyd and Millie Henson Sides. Sides was a pipefitter for the Local 562 in St. Louis, Mo. He was also a member of the VFW post in Festus and the Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158. FESTUS, Mo. -- Richard Wayne Sides, 57, of Festus died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at his home.

He was born Sept. 27, 1947, at Cape Girardeau, son of Lloyd and Millie Henson Sides.

Sides was a pipefitter for the Local 562 in St. Louis, Mo. He was also a member of the VFW post in Festus and the Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include a son, Richard Sides II of Desoto, Mo.; a daughter, Tina Graham of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Steven Sides of Leesburg, Ga., John Sides of St. Louis; two half brothers, James Waldon and Mike Waldon, both of St. Louis; a sister, Marcia Hobbs of Old Appleton, Mo.; and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Willard Wantulok officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, with full military honors.
