GLEN ALLEN, Mo. -- Richard U. Riddle, 81, of Glen Allen died Thursday, April 25, 2002, at Elder Care in Marble Hill, Mo.
He was born July 17, 1920, at Poplar Bluff, Mo., son of William Dallas and Bonnie Wright Riddle. He and Mary Emma Hawes were married Jan. 26, 1940, in Cape Girardeau. She died May 6, 1982.
Riddle retired as a butcher and meat department manager at Ford's Meat Shop in Cape Girardeau. He also co-owned the first Town and Country grocery store in Advance, Mo., many years.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Smith of Marble Hill, Rita Cato of Glen Allen; a brother, Charles Riddle of Rockford, Ill.; two sisters, Betty Moore of Malden, Mo., Doris Fluesmeier of St. Charles, Mo.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, five brothers, three sisters and a grandson.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Fred Ritter and Dianna Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park.
