DONGOLA, Ill. -- Funeral for Richard D. Peeler of Dongola will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, Ill. Burial will be in Dongola American Legion Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.

Peeler, 63, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 17, 1937, in Union County, Ill., son of Koble and Mildred Johnson Peeler. He and Rowena Rainwater were married Aug. 24, 1961, in Centreville, Ill.

Peeler was retired from Illinois Department of Transportation.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Theresa Maze of Cobden, Ill.; a son, Stanley Peeler of Alton, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Linda Hellmann of Cape Girardeau, Lanora Eddleman of St. Louis; a stepson, Grant Holliman of Cobden; his mother of Anna; a sister, Marilyn Needham of East Cape Girardeau, Ill.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
