ANNISTON, Mo. -- Richard E. "Green Jeans" "ZZ" Layton, 55, of Anniston died Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, in the emergency room at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
He was born Aug. 18, 1945, in East Prairie, Mo., son of Richard and Genevieve Sain Layton. He and Geraldine Kinder were married June 15, 1983, at Benton, Mo.
Layton had worked at War Drum Restaurant and Shuffit's Nursing Home. He was a member of East Prairie Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Clyde Layton of Sikeston; three stepsons, Dan and Mike Webb of Sikeston, James Webb; three daughters, Kimberly Webb of Anniston, Angie Downing of Alton, Ill., Rhonda Appling of Hot Springs, Ark.; three stepdaughters, Janice Webb of Sikeston, Sheila Peek of Rockford, Ill., Ronnie Webb of Norwich, Ohio; two brothers, Dannie and Donnie Layton of Lakeland, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel with Edward Kinder officiating. Burial will be in New Morley Cemetery.
