Richard Edgar Krewinghaus, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at his home.
He was born June 17, 1928, in St. Louis, to Richard Edgar John and Hazel Lorraine Young Krewinghaus. He married Dorothy Pauline Baldwin and later married Virginia Birk. Both preceded him in death.
Richard graduated from Central High School.
He served as a merchant mariner during World War II.
He was an engineer with Frisco Railroad 25 years. He enjoyed water activities, was an avid boater, and liked to swim. He also loved to ride Harleys.
Survivors include a son, John Krewinghaus (Toni) of Cape Girardeau; two grandsons, Zachary and Chaz Krewinghaus of St. James, Mo.; and a great-grandson, Samuel Krewinghaus.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will have a private service at a later date.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
