Richard Francis Eilers, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Ratliff Care Center.
He was born May 2, 1934, in Glendale, Calif., to John Eilers and Jean Elizabeth Wells Eilers Russom. He and Barbara Jean Killion were married Aug. 28, 1958, in Glendale.
Richard served seven years in the Air National Guard in California.
He owned and operated Rasco's Store in California, was a manager for J.J. Newberry, Kmart and K.B. Toys. He was also a department manager and later a door greeter at Walmart.
Richard was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church and Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxiliary. In addition, he was a volunteer at Southeast Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Eilers of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Steven Russell Eilers of Yucaipa, Calif., Scott Douglas Eilers of Santa Monica, Calif.; a daughter, Karen Lynn Webster of Charlotte, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Phillip Roop officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
