TAMMS, Ill. -- Richard Lee Chamness, 68, of Tamms died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 5, 1937, in Anna, Ill., son of Logan and Imogene Hill Chamness. He and Pamela Jordan were married Feb. 14, 1987, in Anna.
Chamness was a 1956 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro High School. He was a coal miner with Arch of Illinois Chapter Mine in Percy. He attended First Baptist Church in Anna, was a member and past master of Jonesboro Masonic Lodge 111 AF&AM, and member of Oasis Shrine Club in Anna.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Denise Carpenter of Jonesboro, Rhonda Chamness of Cobden, Ill.; two sons, Charles Jordan of Grand Tower, Ill., Eddie Allen of Paris, Tenn.; two sisters, Susan Rendleman of Jonesboro, Sandra Schuster of Washington, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, two sons, and a brother.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 5 to 8 p.m. today, and at First Baptist Church in Anna from noon to service time Friday. A Masonic service will be held at 7 tonight.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Chad Ozee officiating.
