SCOTT CITY -- Richard Dale Blankenship, 59, of Scott City died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at St. Louis University Hospital.
He was born Aug. 10, 1939, at Ancell, son of Edgar Lee and Alma Alice Brant Blankenship. He first married JoAnn Segraves June 8, 1958. She died Nov. 19, 1988. He later married Sandra McFall May 26, 1989.
Blankenship had owned SEMO Carpet Cleaners since 1974. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Rich Blankenship of Scott City, Ray Blankenship of Cape Girardeau, Roger Blankenship of Jackson; a stepson, Gary Kelley of Dexter; two stepdaughters, Lori Kelley of Scott City, Theresa Klasna of Calhoun, Colo.; his mother of Chaffee; three brothers, Robert Blankenship of Jacksonville, Fla., Kenneth Blankenship of Benton, Roy Blankenship of Scott City; a sister, Ruby Fowler of Jacksonville; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
