GLENALLEN, Mo. -- Rhomie Stephen Clifton, 85, of Glenallen died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 16, 1919, at Lutesville, Mo., son of Rhoba Burette and Mary Ann Hill Clifton. He and Meredith Legate were married Dec. 24, 1983.
Clifton was a retired pallet mill worker, and a member of McGee Chapel Church.
He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three stepsons, Greg Kirkpatrick of Alton, Mo., Kevin Kirkpatrick of Sikeston, Mo., Stephen Kirkpatrick of Mineral Wells, Texas; two stepdaughters, Joyce Simmons of Santo, Texas, Rhonda Shipley of Glenallen; two brothers, Wilford Clifton of Oran, Mo., Kerry Clifton of Marble Hill, Mo.; three sisters, Elvie Lambert of Cahokia, Ill., Ester Harper and Dorothy Elfrink of Advance, Mo.; 19 stepgrandchildren; 14 great-stepgrandchildren; and two great-great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, two sisters and two stepgrandsons.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Clinton Massa and Loyd Green officiating. Burial will be in McGee Chapel Cemetery with full military honors by Missouri Honors Team and VFW Post 5900.
