SCHAUMBURG, Ill. -- Rexford Cort Rhodes, 75, of Schaumburg, formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014, in Skokie, Illinois, after a courageous battle with pneumonia.

Rex was one of two sons born in Cape Girardeau on Feb. 9, 1939, to Cecil and Mayre Rhodes.

Rex is survived by his son, Birke Rhodes; daughter, Jill Kiley and brother, Don Rhodes. Rex had six beautiful grandchildren whom he cherished: Megan, Kiley, Brittany Kiley, Tanner Rhodes, Max Kiley, McKenna Rhodes and Payton Rhodes.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be private. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park.
