BENTON -- Funeral service for Rex Lambert, Benton Route 1, will be held t 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Charleston. The Rev. Gerald Collier will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.

McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston is in charge of arrangements.

Lambert, 75, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 31, 1917, in Marion County, Ala., son of Hiram Davis and Wilhemina Walker Lambert. He and Lucille Barnwell were married May 16, 1940.

He was a businessman 35 years, having owned and operated Lambert's Fabrics Inc. in Cape Girardeau. He attended First Baptist Church in Charleston, and served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linda Wood of Memphis, Tenn., Jane Brock of Jackson, Miss.; four brothers, Robert, James and Bill Lambert of Sikeston, Het Lambert of Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Frieda Grant and Margaret Waters of Sikeston, and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters and a granddaughter.
