Rex W. Gould, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Southeast Hospital.
He was born Dec. 22, 1933, in Paragould, Arkansas, to Cecil and Lola Thompson Gould.
He and Carolyn Tate were married June 22, 1960, at Greene County, Arkansas.
Rex served in the Army. He earned a masters degree in counseling from the University of Arkansas in Jonesboro. He was a guidance counselor at Richland High School in Essex, Missouri.
He was a member of the Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau. He loved gardening.
Survivors include three sons, Rex T. Gould of St. Louis, Courtney Lane Gould of Lexington, Kentucky, and Creighton A. Gould of Cape Girardeau, and two grandchildren, Tanyon and Collin Gould.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother, John C. Gould.
Services will be private for the family only.
