The Rev. William A. McCutchen Jr., 59, of Charlotte, N.C., former pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 1992, in Charlotte.

He was born June 3, 1933, in Birmingham, Ala., son of William Alexander and Mabel Turnipseed McCutchen.

McCutchen had been associate pastor at Forest Hill Presbyterian Church since 1988. He was pastor of Westminster from 1970-80.

He had also served pastorates in Alabama, Virginia and the Carolinas.

McCutchen was a graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C.; Columbia Theological Seminary in Dectur, Ga.; Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, Va., and the counseling program at Grace Fellowship in Atlanta, Ga.

Survivors include his wife, Maggi; a son, Bill McCutchen III; a daughter, Lynda McCutchen, and a sister, Dorothy Burke, all of Charlotte.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at Harry and Bryant Co. Funeral Home in Charlotte.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Hill Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
