MARBLE HILL, Mo. — The Rev. Norman Eugene Elledge entered his heavenly home Sept. 2, 2022, in Springfield, Tennessee.
He was born April 6, 1928, in Sank, Missouri, to Levi Elledge and Furn Elledge (who later married Paul Grant).
Norman attended Oakland City College and sang in the Collegian Quartet. He pastored for a total of 52 years at churches in Hartford, Illinois; Oakland City, Indiana; Jennings and Spanish Lake, Missouri; Advance, Essex and Chaffee, Missouri. During his time in the St. Louis area, he co-directed ILMO Youth Camp. He traveled to many states holding revival services. He loved his family, loved his church family, loved music and most of all he loved and lived for the Lord.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 74 years, Melba I. Elledge; their children, Larry (Karen) Elledge of Jackson, Joyce (Steve) Hale of Cedar Hill, Tennessee, Andrew (Dodi) Elledge of Mount Carmel, Tennessee, and Dennis (Dana) Elledge of Mattoon, Illinois; and two sisters, Marjorie Collins, and Freida (Dennis) Hahn. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Furn; stepfather, Paul Grant; and four brothers, Ernest Elledge and Jerry, Ellis and Daniel Grant.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church in Advance.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, with Pastor Brian Lewis and Pastor Dennis Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery in Marble Hill.
