She was born Feb. 28, 1929, in New Madrid, Mo., daughter of Clayton W. and Mary Kathryn Gassaway Little. She married William Haws, who preceded her in death...

CAIRO, Ill. -- The Rev. Mildred Haws, 79, of Paducah, Ky., formerly of Cairo, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

She was born Feb. 28, 1929, in New Madrid, Mo., daughter of Clayton W. and Mary Kathryn Gassaway Little. She married William Haws, who preceded her in death.

Haws was a minister in the Assembly of God Church. She was a member of Urbandale Community Chapel in Urbandale, Ill., and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include a son, Billy Little of Mounds, Ill.; five sisters, Mary Fox, Brenda Griffith and Nancy Adams, all of Paducah, Kathryn Anderson of Kevil, Ky., Vickie Pouk of Orlando, Fla.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo.

The funeral will be at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tom Hoskins officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds.
