MARBLE HILL -- The Rev. Milas L. Rhodes, 81, of Marble Hill, died Friday, Dec. 27, 1991, at Bond Nursing Care Center in Marble Hill.
He was born at Hurricane, Mo., Mar. 11, 1910, son of Lee and Amanda Welker Rhodes.
He married Lunda Rhodes in 1930. She preceded him in death Feb. 14, 1945. On June 21, 1947, he married Ruth Eaker Proffer. She survives.
Other survivors include five sons, the Rev. Charles Rhodes, Holly Hills, Fla., Rev. Buford Rhodes, Marble Hill, Wilburn Proffer of St. Ann, Everett Proffer of Marble Hill and the Rev. Luther Rhodes of Jackson; four daughters, Ruby Umfleet of Piedmont, Kathleen Osborn of Cape Girardeau, the Rev. Opal Eaker of Fairfield, Ill., and Ada Masterson of Marble Hill; a sister, Mattie Hahn of Granite City, Ill.; 32 grandchildren; and 44 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, six brothers, and four sisters.
He was a member of the Locust Grove General Baptist Church and a member of the Old Liberty Presberty. He was ordained as a general Baptist minister in 1954.
Friends may call at Lilley Funeral Home at Marble Hill from 9 a.m. today until service time.
Service will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Luther Rhodes, the Rev. Charles Rhodes, and the Rev. Webster Eaker officiating. Burial will be in Hurricane Fork Cemetery near Marble Hill.
