The Rev. Jerry Lowell Snell, 44, of New Melle, died Thursday, May 16, 1996, at Doctors Hospital in Wentzville.
He was born May 17, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, son of Stanley L. and Norma R. Mueller Snell. He and Sharon Ruth Weinrich were married Aug. 19, 1978.
Snell attended Trinity Lutheran School, was a graduate of Central High School, received a master's degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University, and attended Concordia Lutheran Seminary in St. Louis.
He was ordained into the ministry June 22, 1980, and had been pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Melle since that time.
Snell was a chaplain with New Melle Police Department, chaplain at Doctors Hospital in Wentzville, and pastoral adviser to the Lutheran Laymen's League of the St. Charles Zone. He served on the board of directors of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod Historical Institute.
Survivors include his wife; his parents of Cape Girardeau, and a brother, Joseph Snell of Lake St. Louis.
Friends may call at Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul Church, with Dr. James Kalthoff officiating.
A service will also be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, with burial in Memorial Park.
