Rev. Grady Etheridge

The Rev. Grady Lloyd Etheridge, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at his home.

He was born July 26, 1923, in Davidson, Okla., to the late Olen and Verlin McClung Etheridge. He first married Marie Vaughn, who preceded him in death. He later married Myrna Lee Gochri.

Etheridge was a minister 69 years, pastoring churches in California, Texas, Illinois and mainly in Southeast Missouri. He ministered on TCT Network.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karan Thatcher of Washington; and a sister, Jeanette Scott of California.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Christ Church of the Heartland.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with Dr. Zachery Strong, Dr. Garth Coonce and the Rev. Larry Davis officiating.

Another visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Miner Baptist Church in Sikeston, Mo.

Private burial will be Thursday in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.

Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
