REV. GILMORE GUYOT

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- The Rev. Gilmore H. Guyot, 93, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at St. Mary's Seminary.

He was born Sept. 11, 1907, in Perryville, son of Henry J. and Lena Helena Hoffman Guyot.

Guyot attended St. Vincent's Schools in Perryville; DePaul University in Chicago; St. Mary's Seminary in Perryville; and Angelicum Pontifical U.R. and Biblical Institute in Rome, Italy.

He was ordained a priest June 17, 1934, in Perryville.

His assignments included St. Louis Prep and Kenrick Seminaries in St. Louis; Assumption Seminary in San Antonio, Texas; St. John's Seminary in Camarillo, Calif.; DeAndreis Seminary in Lemont, Ill.; St. Mary's Seminary and Vincentian Center in Houston, Texas; and St. Mary's Seminary in Perryville.

Survivors include a brother, Merlin Guyot of Perryville; two sisters, Rita Balsman of Perryville and Alberta Hill of Des Moines, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call at St. Mary's of the Barrens Church after 5 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Vincentian Community Cemetery.
