PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- The Rev. Francis Germovnik, 90, of Perryville died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at St. Mary's of the Barrens in Perryville.
He was born Sept. 27, 1915 in Vodice, Slovenia, son of Joseph and Frances Kosec Germovnik.
He received doctorate in canon law at Pont University St. Thomas/ Angelicum in Rome, Italy, in 1945; a bachelor's degree in library science at Our Lady of the Lake College in San Antonio, Texas, in 1950; and a master's degree in library science at Rosary College in River Forest, Ill. in 1967.
He served on the faculty of St. Mary's Seminary in Perryville from 1954 to 1964 and returned in 1996 as senior confrere in residence at St. Mary's of the Barrens.
His other assignments included San Antonio, Lemont, Ill., Denver and Chicago.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's of the Barrens Catholic Church. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m.
Visitation continues on Tuesday until time of funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Vincentian Community Cemetery at Perryville.
