The Rev. Merideth
DEXTER -- The Rev. Dallas L. Merideth Sr., 69, of Fisk died at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis Friday, July 25, 1997.
He was born at Hurricane Mills, Tenn., July 28, 1927, son of John Richard Merideth and Ethel Baker Merideth.
He lived in Illinois 42 years, moving to Fisk in 1994 after retiring from Engel Tool & Die in St. Louis, where he worked 39 years.
He was a member of the Dudley Community Church, where he served as assistant minister.
He married Mary Lou Bostic at Piggott, Ark., on March 4, 1950. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Dallas L. Merideth and Eric Merideth, both of Fisk, and Kenneth Merideth of East Carondelet, Ill.; three daughters, Susan Moore of North Little Rock, Ark., Janet Bieper of Columbia, Ill., and Bonnie Satterfield of Cahokia, Ill.; his step-mother, Libby Loraine Merideth of Dudley; a brother, J.D. Merideth of Pevely, Mo.,; three sisters, Evadeen Choat of Puxico, Betty Choat of Bloomfield and Ann Brooks of Festus; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A daughter and two brothers preceded him in death.
Service will be held at Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter Monday at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Bud Meadows officiating. Interment will be in Ash Hill Cemetery near Fisk.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
