PIEDMONT -- The Rev. J. Carl Rusch, 91, of Piedmont died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Doctors Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Jan. 28, 1908, in Chicago. Rusch was a 1932 graduate of Concordia Seminary in St. Louis.
He and Emma A. Anderson were married Aug. 2, 1939.
Rusch was pastor of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Chicago 21 years. He organized Grace Lutheran Church in Piedmont in 1972 and served as pastor until retiring in 1984. He had attended Scriptural Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard Rusch of Beaverton, Ore., Clayton Rusch of Downers Grove, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ruegg Funeral Home in Piedmont after 5:30 p.m. today and at Scriptural Church after 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. Henry Geischen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
