SIKESTON -- The Rev. Billie Fair, 54, of Sikeston died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at her home.
She was born March 6, 1946, in Sikeston, daughter of the Rev. Lawrence and Mary Stuppy Ray. She and Wayne Fair were married June 4, 1967, in Jonesboro, Ark.
Fair received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Arkansas State University, a master's degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University and a master of divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
She was an elementary teacher with Sikeston Public Schools 17 years. For the past two years she was minister of outreach and ministries development at First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Steve Fair of the home; her father of Newport, Tenn.; a brother, the Rev. Howard Ray of Wilmerding, Pa.; and a sister, Betty Jones of Newport.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 3-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Jim Guffie officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
