MARBLE HILL -- The Rev. Arzie R. Long, 64, of Marble Hill died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at his home.
He was born Dec. 26, 1934, son of David F. and Barbara Causey Long. He and Marceda Douglas were married Oct. 5, 1957.
Long was ordained into the Old Liberty Association of General Baptist Oct. 15, 1960. He had served as an evangelist and pastor since that time. He was a member of Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Douglas and Daniel Long of Marble Hill, Mitchell Long of Jackson; two daughters, Fayetta Garland and Alexia Jordan of Marble Hill; a brother, the Rev. Jessie Long of Marble Hill; a sister, Aslee Cook of Marble Hill; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, 10 brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill after 3 p.m. today, and Thursday at Hurricane Church after 9 a.m.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Revs. Clinton Cook and Cecil Cook officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
