DELTA -- Retta Parker Lyne, 83, of Delta died Monday, April 19, 2004, at Chaffee Nursing Center.
She was born Aug. 19, 1920, in Lamar, Ark., daughter of Burgess Cline and Sarah Jane Burton Anthony. She first married Dave Parker who preceded her in death Aug. 17, 1962. She and Gerald D. Lyne Sr. were married Jan. 29 1966, and he preceded her in death Jan. 14, 2004.
She was a cutter at the Sports Specialty Shoe Co. in Chaffee. She later worked as a clerk at F.W. Woolworth in Cape Girardeau. She worked as a food service aide at the Cape LaCroix Manor in Cape Girardeau.
Retta helped organize the Randles General Baptist Church in which she was a member.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Joyce Parker of Whitewater; a daughter and son-in-law, Deloris Jackson and Clifton Trentham of Delta; grandchildren, Deborah and Harold Lancaster, David and Tara Parker of Delta, Cheryl and Ron Pruett of Chaffee, Mitchell and Theresa Jackson of Cape Girardeau.
Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Rhonda and Kevin Parker of Chaffee, Shonda Burnett of Jackson, Chris Hornbuckle of Chaffee, James and Ashley Hornbuckle of Advance, Mo., David and Vicki Macke of Cape Girardeau, Stacy and Ben Stork of Cape Girardeau, Shelby and Ashley Jackson of Cape Girardeau, Brandon and Brent Parker of Chaffee, Brady Parker of Columbia, Mo., Chelsie Parker of Delta; great-great-grandchildren, Molly and Wyatt Parker of Chaffee, Carleigh Burnett of Jackson, Makayla Macke of Cape Girardeau; several nieces and nephews; three stepdaughters, Margaret Dowty of Seattle, Gladys Patterson of Auburn, Wash., and Ruby Kreitel of Seattle; and seven stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Denny Lyne; a sister, Dorothy Dale; a grandson, Doug Parker; a son-in-law, Gene Jackson and a niece, Mary Dale.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel with the Revs. Keith Price and Bob Murray officiating. Burial will be in Friend Cemetery at Oran.
Pallbearers are David Parker, Ron Pruett, Chris Hornbuckle, James Hornbuckle, Mitchell Jackson, Harold Lancaster and Kevin Parker.
