Funeral service for Rethor Richard Macke, 1500 Big Bend Road, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church. Dr. Larry Gallamore will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Macke, 84, died Wednesday, March 27, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born July 19, 1911, at Gordonville, son of Julius and Bertha Schwab Macke. He and Alma Juanita Lacy were married July 3, 1934, in Jackson. She died Nov. 10, 1984.
Macke worked at International Shoe Co. 42 years, had worked at Child's IGA, and was currently employed at Save-A-Lot. He was a member of Grace Church. Macke served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Richard Macke of Fredericktown; three daughters, Betty Craft and Elwanda Compas of Cape Girardeau, Wilma Hawkins of Metairie, La., Martha Minton of Jackson; 16 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a half brother.
