Retha Alene Yantis, 74, 606 Silver Springs Road, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 1994, at the home of a sister.
She was born Jan. 4, 1920, in Stuttgart, Ark., daughter of Glenn A. and Retha L. Russell Armstrong. She and Bruce Yantis were married May 24, 1964. He died in 1971.
Yantis moved here in 1977 from Chicago. She attended the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago, and Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Little Rock, Ark.
She was a nurse at Northwestern University Hospital and Passavant Hospital in Chicago, and later was a private duty nurse. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Mesler of Carter, Mont.; a sister, Mildred Limbaugh of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
There is no visitation or funeral service.
Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
