Rella Glastetter

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Rella Agnes Glastetter, 83, of Chaffee died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 9, 1927, in Chaffee, daughter of George and Caroline Lux Glueck. She and Eugene Leo Glastetter were married March 10, 1945. He died Aug. 30, 2007.

Rella was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Daughters of St. Ambrose, and Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 6407 in Scott City.

Survivors include seven sons, Stanley (Joyce) Glastetter of Lakeland, Fla., Les and Tim (Kathy) Glastetter of Chaffee, Brian (Lynn) Glastetter of Marston, Mo., Barry (Annette) Glastetter of Bardstown, Ky., Karl Glastetter of Chaffee, Eric (Jill) Glastetter of Jackson; a daughter, Susie (Charlie) Wipfler of Kelso, Mo.; a sister, Luella Glastetter of Chaffee; 24 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, two brothers, two sisters, and a grandchild.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The rosary will be at 7, followed by VFW Ladies Auxiliary service.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will be in St. Ambrose Cemetery.
