Regina A. Yeager, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 14, 1922, in Vanduser, Mo., daughter of Henry Sylvester and Emma Louise Bullinger Whitfield. She and H. William "Bill" Yeager were married May 8, 1948, at St. Ambrose Church in Chaffee, Mo.
Yeager was a 1940 graduate of Chaffee High School and 1943 graduate of Steimle Business College in Cape Girardeau.
She was a secretary/bookkeeper at Moon Distributing 16 years and then at Riverside Regional Library in Jackson 30 years until retiring.
Yeager was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral. She served as St. Mary's parish DCCW president, and also diocesan and regional DCCW. In addition, she volunteered at St. Mary's parish office many years.
Survivors include her husband, H. William "Bill" Yeager of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Ann Whitfield of Chaffee, Mo.; several nephews and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer and Monsignor Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's Cathedral Building on Faith Fund.
