MARBLE HILL -- Regina Mary Thele, 91, of Marble Hill died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1992, at the Bond Nursing Care Center in Marble Hill.
She was born Oct. 23, 1901, in Bollinger County, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Hosenfeldt Koenig.
She was married to Joe VanGennip, who preceded her in death. She then married Joseph Thele on Oct. 11, 1927. He preceded her in death Sept. 28, 1964.
She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold and the Christian Ladies Sodality of St. John's Church.
Survivors include a son, Henry Thele of Marble Hill; four daughters, Francie Crain and Anna Kieffer, both of O'Fallon, Loretta Aschoff of St. Charles and Geneva Elfink of Leopold; a sister, Ann Reed of Dupo, Ill., 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and seven great, great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Baker Funeral Home in Marble Hill, where parish prayers will be said at 7:30 and a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 8 p.m.
Funeral mass will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church. The Rev. Michael Casteel will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
