Rebecca Sue Ward, 55, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, May 17, 1998, at her home.
She was born March 8, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of David Morris and Mickey Kaiser Hunt. She and Larry W. Ward were married Oct. 17, 1963, at Jackson.
She earned an associate degree from William Woods College in Fulton and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University.
She worked for the state of Missouri for 32, serving as the district supervisor for the Division of Child Support Enforcement, retiring in September. She had previously been the county director of Division of Family Services.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include her husband; her parents; a daughter, Geri Sue Ward of St. Louis; a brother, David Hunt of Kansas City; and three sisters, Sharon Cates of Springfield, Carol Loving of Pensacola, Fla., and Melissa Hunt of Kansas City.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. The Rev. Brendan Dempsey will officiate.
