PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Rebecca Sue Mathis, 69, of Perryville died Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis.
She was born Sept. 10, 1939, at Attwood, Tenn., daughter of Ruben Goodman and Mary Tucker Goodman.
She and Jewett Freeman Mathis were married Nov. 10, 1972, in Nashville, Tenn.
She was a bookkeeper/secretary for Gus Hange Painting in St. Louis and a member of the Women's Optimist Club, Tuesday and Thursday Morning Women's Bowling Leagues.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Karen Bishop and Janice James of Fort Madison, Iowa, Jenny Harmon of Hamilton, Ill.; two sons, Daniel Hubbard of Centralia, Mo. Jacob Bishop of Perryville; two sisters, Naomi Vitense of Yellville, Mo., Myrtle McIntre of Texas; five brothers, Daniel Goodman of Newbury, Md., Tom Goodman and Rick Goodman of West Des Moines, Iowa, David Goodman of Hamilton, Joe Goodman of St. Charles, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, a brother and a great-granddaughter.
Friends may call from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville.A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Melvin Weiss officiating.
Burial will be private.
