Rebecca Jean "Becky" Brown Huffman Foister, 56, of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at a hospice care center after a long battle with multiple sclerosis.
She was born April 24, 1956, at Southeast Hospital to Robert C. Brown Sr. and Dorothy Jean Whitson Brown. She married Ronald Gene Huffman and then James Richard Foister.
Rebecca graduated from Cape Girardeau public schools and from the LPN School of Nursing. She worked as a licensed practicing nurse for Saint Francis Hospital and Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau and the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville.
She is survived by her mother; two husbands; two sons, Scott David Huffman and James Christopher (Michelle) Foister; two grandsons, Isaiah and Daniel Foister, both of Jacksonville; brothers, R. Charlie (Doreen) Brown Jr., Fred W. (Cris) Brown, Joseph L. Brown; sister Linda K. Williams of Cape Girardeau; several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert C. Brown Sr.; and her grandparents.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Saint Mark Lutheran Church of Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Mike Malone officiating.
The funeral will be held in Jacksonville.
