Reba Hazel

ORAN, Mo. -- Reba Puckett Hazel, 90, of Oran died Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Advance Nursing Center.

She was born March 21, 1921, in Lutherville, Ark., daughter of Dode and Laura Belling Johnson. She married J. Almon Puckett July 30, 1940. He died Dec. 23, 1971. She then married Wesley Hazel July 13, 1988. He died Oct. 29, 1991.

Reba retired as a machine operator at International Hat Co. in Oran. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Morley VFW Post 5368.

Survivors include a son, Donald (Lucienne) Puckett of Long Beach, Miss.; a daughter, Ruth Ann Freeman of Chaffee, Mo.; a daughter-in-law, Mary Puckett of Oran; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two spouses; a son, Gary Puckett; a grandson, Joel Puckett; and a son-in-law, Donald Freeman.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Ed Carter officiating. Burial will be in New Morley Cemetery in Morley, Mo.
