GRAND CHAIN, Ill. -- Reba Irene Brown, 89, of Grand Chain died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis.
She was the daughter of Howard and Bertha Jones. She married Danny Brown, who died in 1958.
Brown was treasurer for the village of Grand Chain 29 years. She was a store clerk 24 years, and had been a cook at Grand Chain High School.
She was a member of First Christian Church and charter member of Grand Chain Civic Club.
Survivors include two sons, James Brown of Huntsville, Ala., Richard Brown of Karnak; a daughter, Sue McClellan of Grand Chain; two sisters, Clara Sielbeck of Ann Arbor, Mich., Pearl Easter of Toledo, Ohio; and five grandsons.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ivan Judd officiating. Burial will be in Grand Chain Masonic Cemetery.
