GLEN ALLEN, Mo. -- R.C. "Shorty" Blackwell, 79, of Glen Allen died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at his home.
He was born Dec. 18, 1921, at Bragg City, Mo., son of D.B. and Pearl Lee Wyatt Blackwell. He and Darlene Emma Arnold were married Aug. 8, 1942.
Blackwell was a farmer and mechanic all his life. He and his son also did custom hay baling many years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dale Blackwell of Glen Allen; two daughters, Virginia Jaco of Jackson, Mo., Emmalene Sitze of Dexter, Mo.; a brother, Guy Blackwell of Benton, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant twin sister, and two other sisters.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Mo., after 4 p.m. today.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gene Robins officiating. Burial will be in McGee Chapel Cemetery.
