Raymond G. Wiedefeld, 59, formerly of Gordonville, passed away Sunday May 29, 2005, at his home in Burfordville. He was born Feb. 12, 1946, in Cape Girardeau, son of John J. and Marie A. Raymond G. Wiedefeld, 59, formerly of Gordonville, passed away Sunday May 29, 2005, at his home in Burfordville.

He was born Feb. 12, 1946, in Cape Girardeau, son of John J. and Marie A. Landewee Wiedefeld. He and Beverly S. Nothdurft were married Feb. 13, 1971, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.

Raymond was a 1964 graduate of Notre Dame High School. He was the receiving clerk for Schnucks of Cape Girardeau for 26 years before retiring in 2004 due to failing health. Raymond had also served in the Missouri National Guard.

Loving survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Heather and Casey Smith of Ashland, Mo., Whitney and Todd Conklin and Mike and Erin Lappe, all of Jackson; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Phyllis Wiedefeld of Cape Girardeau, Herman and Nina Wiedefeld of Fruitland, and Wayne and Duzy Wiedefeld of Burfordville; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Gary Underwood of Burfordville.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Isabelle and Tyson Smith and Morgan Conklin. Raymond was anticipating the arrival of his fourth grandchild in June.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Charles Wiedefeld.

Friends may call Tuesday, May 31, from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, with parish prayers at 6 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, June 1, at 10 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold, with Monsignor Edward Eftink officiating and burial in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to VNA Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
