JACKSON -- Raymond O. Welker, 86, of Jackson died Tuesday, April 21, 1998, at Heritage Gardens Nursing Home. He was born Nov. 8, 1911, in Oak Ridge, son of Burrett O. and Nora M. Bowers Welker. He and Hazel Sadler were married May 5, 1937. She died Dec. 11, 1977...

JACKSON -- Raymond O. Welker, 86, of Jackson died Tuesday, April 21, 1998, at Heritage Gardens Nursing Home.

He was born Nov. 8, 1911, in Oak Ridge, son of Burrett O. and Nora M. Bowers Welker. He and Hazel Sadler were married May 5, 1937. She died Dec. 11, 1977.

Welker was a farmer, and member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Joan Smith of Millersville; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and two sisters.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Russell Heights Cemetery, with the Rev. Jon Sedgwick officiating.
