JACKSON -- Raymond W. Willer, 75, of Jackson, died Tuesday, May 23, 1995, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 17, 1920, in Jackson, son of Alpha and Minnie Rasche Willer. He and Dorothy Goehring were married July 13, 1952.
Willer and his father co-owned the former Willer Seed Co. from 1945-62. He was a representative with Shawneetown Feed and Seed Co. from 1962-86, and was currently employed by Cheesmore Seed Co. of St. Joseph.
He was a lifelong member of Emanuel United Church of Christ, where he sang in the choir and taught adult Sunday School class many years. He was a former scoutmaster, member and former commander of the American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World war II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas Kiehne of Ste. Genevieve, David Willer of Jackson; a daughter, Jane Wessel of Gordonville; two sisters, Frances Oswald of Broomfield, Colo., Bernice Steck of Cape Girardeau, and four grandchildren.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today. An American Legion honor guard service will be held at 7:30.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
