ORAN -- Raymond "R.J." Tomlinson Jr., 66, of Oran died Thursday, June 17, 1999, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born June 23, 1932, at Cape Girardeau, son of Raymond and Juanita Losse Tomlinson. He was a police officer in Scott County for 20 years. ORAN -- Raymond "R.J." Tomlinson Jr., 66, of Oran died Thursday, June 17, 1999, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born June 23, 1932, at Cape Girardeau, son of Raymond and Juanita Losse Tomlinson.

He was a police officer in Scott County for 20 years. He was also a veteran of the Army, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance.

On April 15, 1995, he married Mary Anne Vogel at Oran.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Lance Tomlinson of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Patricia Deal of Jackson; two stepsons, Joseph Hamilton of Kevil, Ky., and Michael Lane Hamilton of Paducah, Ky.; a brother, Gary Tomlinson of Memphis, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance, with the Rev. Fredrick Lutz officiating. Burial will be at Woodville Cemetery in Kevil.
