DEXTER, Mo. -- Raymond F. Stewart, 89, of Dexter died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Nov. 6, 1912, in Garnett, Kan., son of Fletcher and Cora Garrison Stewart. He and Naomi Wiggs were married May 10, 1952, at Dexter.
Stewart was a driver and shop foreman 30 years at Hart Truck Line. He was a member of Sugar Tree General Baptist Church and had served as trustee; Sunday School superintendent, secretary, adult teacher; and church treasurer.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Rayla Hogue of Cape Girardeau, Lillian Snavely of Ozark, Mo.; a brother, Everett Stewart of Mansfield, Mo.; a sister, Sylvia Bennett of Mansfield; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers, and two sisters.
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Joe Ogelvie, John Snavely, John Adams, Dr. Glen Wiggs and Dr. James Hogue officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
