Raymond Seckel

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Raymond R. Seckel, 83, of Perryville died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 18, 1924, in St. Louis, son of Christopher W. and Helen Long Seckel. He and Virginia Shackelford were married July 9, 1960. She died July 25, 2005.

Seckel was retired from the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve.

Survivors include a daughter, Raegie Finch of Lexington, Ky.; three sons, Lou Trevillion of Pocahontas, Ark., William First of Perryville, David First of St. Charles, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 6:30 a.m. to service time Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
