MARSTON -- Raymond Wood Nelson Jr., 75, of Leipers Fork, Tenn., died Friday, Dec. 6, 1996, at Williamson County Medical Center in Franklin, Tenn.
He was born Nov. 25, 1921, at Marston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Nelson Sr. He and Mary Thompson were married Nov. 10, 1972, at Lilbourn.
Nelson was a member of Hillsboro Baptist Church in Leipers Fork.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Judy Johnson of Cape Girardeau, Jennifer Jerrett of Olive Branch, Ill., Pamela Tope of Portageville, Marty Hunt of Leipers Fork; three sons, Anthony Nelson of East Cape Girardeau, Ill., Steve Thompson of Sikeston, Stan Thompson of Jackson; four sisters, Elvene Blankenship, Marie Myers, Betty Smith, all of New Madrid, Mary Charlton of Kennett; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, with the Revs. Raymond Oxford and Michael Chambliss officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
