RAYMOND MCCLAIN JR.

SIKESTON -- Raymond F. McClain, Jr., 71, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Sikeston, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 1997, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

He was born Nov. 16, 1925, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Raymond F. and Julia R. Maloney McClain.

He was a merchant seaman with the United States Merchant Marines and worked with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for nearly 40 years. He retired in 1985 and moved to Sikeston.

He is survived by a son, Derek Ray McClain of Dallas; a brother, Mike McClain of Kansas City; two sisters, Cecilia McClain and Ellen Dunn, both of Kansas City; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Schumacher officiating.
