Funeral service for Raymond J. Rubel of Linn will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Jim Smith will officiate, with burial in Lorimier Cemetery. Graveside service will be by VFW Post 3838.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Rubel, 69, died Tuesday, March 9, 1993, at Linn.

He was born Oct. 5, 1923, at Illmo, son of John and Flora Ochs Rubel. He and Opal Reece were married Sept. 16, 1945, in Cape Girardeau. She died Aug. 28, 1983.

Rubel moved to Overland in 1952 from Cape Girardeau. He worked 32 years at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, retiring in 1985 and moving to Linn. He was a member of American Legion. He served two years in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald Rubel of St. Charles, Danny Rubel of St. Louis, Timothy Rubel of Linn; seven grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a grandchild, five brothers and a sister.
