Raymond Gipson
MARQUAND -- Raymond B. Gipson, 70, of Marquand died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 15, 1928, at Buckhorn, son of Louis B. and Memphis Emily Jane Cook Gipson. He and Lola L. Irvin were married on Aug. 30, 1947.
He was a charter member of the Buckhorn General Baptist Church in 1953. In 1957 he was ordained in the Old Liberty Association of the General Baptist Church. He pastored several area General Baptist churches.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dwayne Gipson of Marquand; two daughters Judy Brown of Benton, Ark., and Debbie Forsyth of Arnold; two sisters, Osa White of Fredericktown and Alta Gulon of Springdale, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Patton from 5 to 9 p.m. today and at the Buckhorn General Baptist Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. The Revs. Gale Lambert, Gene Rauls and Joseph Noe will officiate, with burial in the Barrett Cemetery near Marquand.
